Ensuring the physical health and well-being of oler adults has become a national priority in Indonesia. This study aimed to determine the role of the Meals on Wheels (MoWs) service in mental health and quality of life of service users in the municipality of Surabaya. Preliminary findings from a cross-sectional survey among 281 MoWs recipients (mean age=71 years) showed that 85% of participants had good mental health. Participants also reported a good quality of life in terms of physical, psychological, social and environmental quality of life. Follow-up semi-structured interviews with 14 MoWs service users (preliminary findings) suggested that overall, the meals were perceived as having good quality, variety and meeting their nutritional needs, and they were satisfied with the service.
